1:45 PM Cadillac Tattoo (garage band groove playing a few Jerry songs)
2:30 PM Jango Monkey (catchy originals with multiple influences playing a Jerry song or two)
3:45 PM Sundown Underground (rock/funk cover band playing mostly Jerry songs)
4:45 PM DROP (rockin’ the house with mainly Jerry songs)

BACKGROUND
For a few years beginning in 1997, Jeff Dunham and Z93 – 92.9 FM radio sponsored an outdoor event on the first Sunday of August billed as “The Music Hasn’t Stopped” and showcased many local and national acts performing music composed and influenced by Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead.  Dunham, a native of Maine, retired from the music scene in ATL and moved to Florida after the radio station was sold to ClearChannel (management were not receptive to continuing the tradition of airing the weekly Grateful Dead Hour syndication or supporting other successful Dunham ventures such as  the annual 2-day JerryJam held every May, monthly GDH listening parties and numerous other concert promotions).

Dunham’s departure has left a void in the ATL music scene for the past several years that Lewis Newmark and Jim Roe, event organizers for Jerry Day in ATL, hope to fill if only one day each year. While at a social event in Autumn 2007, the two metro Atlanta residents were lamenting about lack of cohesion in the area’s “Deadhead Scene” and decided to stage the event, but were unable to obtain any local/regional support or sponsorship that would allow the event to be held in a municipal venue.  Bryan Wilson, owner of Shorty’s Pizza, was approached and became highly receptive to the concept, agreeing to host the event at his Tucker, Georgia location (well known for showcasing some of the area’s best musical talent since opening this location in 2008).
